Zion’s Marae Learning Story

As I am in the marae I feel ancestors surrounding us
On the 20th of June we marched up to the Maraeroa Marae and Ray Ray and Likalia’s grandad did the korero. It was long but it was worth it. I could feel ancestors surrounding us. After a few minutes, we had morning tea which was the best part for me. While we marched back others stayed and did their own learning and slept over.
I learned how to do my pepeha
I learned how to get along with others I thought were mean
I learned how to do a poi song
I was good at being brave by doing my pepeha by not looking at my paper
Jillian’s feedback:
You were really good at managing yourself up there at the marae because you were sticking to your schedule and also helping out younger kids even though you weren’t told to.
I think you need to work on being more interactive with people so then you could have had help from others with the little kids. Even though I was cooking I could still see you doing some things.
