How Do We Create A Product To Solve A Problem?










There is no expectations of knowledge and no limit of mistakes-Zion



So these past weeks we have been exploring,investigating and finding out about different types of websites,apps and games to share information about our issue in inquiry and other past events that has happened. The thing I have liked out of the whole total of websites is vidcode. Vidcode is a website thats similar to Hour of Code.I like using it because it's easy to follow instructions and it's easier to use.

gap so I can be able to do something
The key competency I used well was participating and contributing
because I love doing stuff I don't know about or I think is interesting
I want you to know that I need to work on not complaining because it could be
fun but it's just what I think.
The key competency that will help me next time is thinking because I say stuff
that doesn't connect to the learning
I want you to know that I found it hard to work harder because sometimes I get shy when I am about to share my ideas because I am scared of what they might say

How do we achieve a goal as a team when playing an invasion game?

There's no such word as losing, you either win or learn -Zion

When we did P:E we had to play a game which was exactly like netball and basketball.  Since I played those sports before that made it easy to give other people feedback. I was good at giving information to others so they can improve each week.

I want you to know that I was good at using strategies so  I can play better.

The key competency I used well was relating to others because I encouraged other people's ideas about what they need to do.

I want you to know that I need to work on looking for people to pass it to because I keep the ball for myself.

The key competency that will help me next time is participating and contributing because I sometimes feel too tired and hot.

 I want you to know that I found it hard to tell myself what to do instead of others because sometimes I think about what they are doing wrong when I do stuff wrong as well.

The key competency that will help me next time is participating and contributing because it will help me in the future to try new things. The more skills you learn, the better you will be at lots of things.
 I want you to know that I found it hard to focus when there are other people trying to distract me because I am able to be distracted easily.

Maths Learning Story

How do we solve a tricky math problem as a group?

Xiah’s family’s waka ama team and Brooklyn’s family’s waka ama team are training for Nationals. They want to see how far they can travel in 5 minutes. Xiah’s family team travelled 1.32km in 5 minutes. Brooklyn’s family team travelled .86km in 5 minutes.
How much further ahead were Xiah’s family’s team?

When I and my group solved this problem we thought of a good thing to start off so we can be able to understand each other’s ideas/smarts.

We first started with  86/.86 + something = 100

I knew that 86/.86 + 14/.14 = 100 so our first number was 14/.14 but we had some more left and it was 32/.32  so 32 + 100 = 132 and in decimal, the decimal point always has to be in between the one and tenths.

 So it was 1.32 and we had to add the amount of numbers we added so we did .14 + .32 which = .46 and that was how we knew the answer that's how far Xiahs family went

I want you to know that I am good at explaining confidently and clearly   because I love being in front of a lot of people

I am also good at asking questions  because I want to know if they understand what I am doing

The key competency I use well is thinking because I connect math with what I already know

I want you to know that I need to work on participating and contributing  because I get angry whenever we do maths quite a lot each day

The key competency that will help me next time is managing myself because I can think twice of what I'm doing wrong

 I want you to know that I find it hard to not get distracted from others because I can get distracted easily

Callum is a nought- a second-class citizen in a world run by the ruling crosses...
Sephy is a cross, daughter of one of the most powerful men in the country…
In their world, noughts and crosses simply don't mix. And as hostility turns to violence, can Callum and Sephy possibly find a way to be together? They are determined to try.

I like reading books about rugby and war because I want to learn more and know more than people

          It is a fiction

Its purpose is to twist up our mind and share true information 

I located information so I found out that Callum and Sephy daughters were best friends.

I inferred so I worked out that they have known each other for long  because they tell secrets

The Smallest Group With The Biggest Hearts

I am walking towards the left side of Hosanna Hall. Walking backstage hearing the thundering sound of the audience. Just watching the Cook Island Group dancing so smoothly along the stage. I can feel the butterflies starting to begin flying up making my nervousness even worse but I'm trying to forget about them. It is so difficult because I am so nervous.
As I am walking on the stage I see 100+ people staring at me as if I was to star in the group, Seeing the light shining upon my face is distracting but I am forcing myself to keep smiling, As I stand still I am taking a big breath. Then the confidence in me is so strong, E Otua tolu fa. As I am singing I am thinking not to muck up. I am looking towards the audience and the encouragement that they are doing makes me smile as big as a planet. Now we have finished our performance. It's time for the girls to perform their beautiful dance and I am trying to remember the words for my lead. Then I just look at the girls dance. The shiny oil on their skin is  reflecting to the lights. Which was making them look like they are jewels.They  finish and then the audience sounds even louder than before. As I walk on the stage we haven't even started but the audience is cheering loud as an aeroplane
 It is now time to walk off the stage.  As I'm walking off.I see my family smiling and looking directly at me and my head. I feel so proud of myself and us and so confident to do anything in the future.M y aunt said me I am part Tongan which is quite amazing

 issues and the feelings because t could make you
disappointed in yourself, angry at yourself and embarrassing. That's why you should always think twice. The present is all about being in a gang but generation to generation who knows what your creation is gonna be looking like in the future. Pollution, abuse, and violence, no one will care for each other, no one will also care about sea life and especially for the community So Man Above way up high please show us a clue
to happiness and positive emotions, words and
actions, and peacefulness. But that's the end of

Camp Learning Story

Camp Makahika The Camp Of Positivity
Before we entered Camp Makahika I was feeling mixed emotions for example excited and nervous. I was nervous because I thought we will be sleeping in the forest and animals will be making noises in the night!  I was excited because I was there with my best friends.  When we suddenly arrived I saw a big lounge that had different cabins with different names so I didn’t feel nervous anymore.

The most significant activity I did at camp was the high beam which had a ladder. At the top of the ladder, there was a metal circle shaped thing that we had to put our foot on the climb up. We also had to lean against the pole and it was quite scary but I kept climbing until I made it to the top. When I looked down I kept on going and the thing that was amazing to me is having the fear of height. I was terrified  by the time I got up and looked down my heart was pounding my hands were shaking but I remembered I was attached to something that held me and kept me safe.

The key competencies I used to help me was thinking. I thought of the quote which was “no matter what fear I have I will never look back” This made me keep on going.  I also used participation because I chose to do it 3rd so I could make people less scared. I thought I could be a leader in my group and a leader that faces his/her fear and the only reason why I had to go 3rd was that I can think of what I can do for my legacy when I leave


This learning will help me in the future because I might have a job that includes heights and if I have kids I can tell them a strategy to calm down or if they have a fear of heights.  I can tell them strategies that includes encouragement.


Another significant experience I had at camp was the 5-hour walk. That was so terrifying because we had to walk out of Camp Makahika and walk towards a road. We had to stay on the left and when we got to a decision point we had to wait. We had to walk steep hills but Ajay encouraged me to keep on going and so I did. There were rivers we had to walk across and we drank some of the water. It was actually yum and fresh!  I helped other
people get out of the river and when we finished walking through the river there was mud all over the place! I walked in it and the mud went up to my stomach. The funny thing was that I was stuck and Luka came to help me and we fell over into the mud. I was covered brown and did you know it was apparently mud and cow poo which was disgusting!!  As we walked and saw one side was full of nature and the other side had chopped wood leaving only the trunk of the tree. Kastro made a connection to our learning which was climate change and when we came back I was so tired and muddy.


The key competencies I used really well was participation because I thought I could not go any further but I persevered and kept on going and the only reason why I kept on
going was because of the people who were encouraging me. I appreciated them. This activity will help me in the future because  it could be a hobbie and I could be able to love hiking and I can also use a strategy to not be tired and get fitter.


 I reckon this will help me in the future because if I go for hikes I will know what equipment  to go with.I also think that in the future this will help me  get more fit and if i'm feeling sad or angry I can always go for a walk/hike not just because it might be a habit  because of the fresh air that cool me down.
